CaseAbbrev™

Specifically designed for legal indexers, the CaseAbbrev utility reduces the time and effort required to prepare tables of cases.  It will review a table or index of cases and alter names of the parties to conform with Blue Book style for abbreviations.  This saves you time it improves the accuracy of your entries cutting down proofreading time. Case names with multiple citations will meet up automatically when all the names are abbreviated properly.

CaseAbbrev can also remove pinpoint cites.

Features

CaseAbbrev utilizes a list of abbreviations which you can customize. You can also create multiple list for different projects. The default abbreviation that comes with the software has the standard Blue Book abbreviations.

It is also knows not to abbreviate the first word of party names! For example,
    Avery Foundation v. Department of Transportation
becomes
    Avery Found. v. Department of Transp.
Note that Department is not changed to Dep't since it is the first word of the party.

Additionally, CaseAbbrev will eliminate redundant corporate name suffixes, for instance,
    Johnson Controls Co., Inc.
becomes
   Johnson Controls Co.
