CaseCheck™

Specifically designed for legal indexers, the CaseCheck utility validates case citations in tables of cases. [Note: this product is intended for use with case citations found in the U.S.]

CaseCheck works in two phases: first syntactical validations are performed and then cross checking is performed. The latter phase checks to see if a primary reporter cite is used for more than one case name.

Features

CaseCheck utilizes a configuration file which you can customize for different situations. The default configuration that comes with the software has the standard Blue Book abbreviations, lists of federal and state tribunals, common reporters abbreviations, etc.

CaseCheck will log citations when a primary reporter cite cannot be identified. This may be due to missing volume or page numbers, mispelled/mispunctuated reporter cite abbreviations, etc.

CaseCheck will log missing or unrecognized tribunals (court abbreviations).

You can indicate strings of text you wish to have reported when found in a case citation.
