Em/Index™

EM/Index is a utility for checking and splitting a common index file into separate index files (one-path publishing) for printing/typesetting and electronic media usage (usually HTML or CD-ROM).

A single index can store the locators for page or section numbers used in the printed publication, and the links or ids used in an electronic version of the product.

EM/Index allows you to index a publication for multiple end products.

You can place a page or section number in the page field, an electronic link, or both.

Cross references and editorial notes, if any, are passed to both production files.
